Meeting Dates

                      Upcoming 4-H Meeting:

  •  Tuesday, August 27th we will have our 4-H kickoff meeting.  This will be all ages.  We will go over different project information and began making some plans for the year.   I would also ask that you bring travel size shampoos, soaps, razors, toothpaste, deodorant, etc. to take to the Odessa Catholic Charities Food Pantry.  Every Tuesday and Thursday they give hygiene packs and easy to eat meals to the homeless of the Permian basin.  This is our first community service project of the year.

  • Speaking of 4-H Meetings, the plan this year is for Seniors to meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m., the intermediates will meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 4 p.m., and the juniors will meet on the 3rd Monday of every month at 4 p.m.  Understandably not everybody will be able to make every meeting.  We just ask that you give your best effort to be there.

Those exhibiting animals at State Fair need to get their entries done online ASAP.  Entries need to be done by August 20th both online and hard copies brought to the office.  If you are showing in the Pan American Show I do not have to sign your entries so you can take care of those yourself.

Also, anybody planning on showing sheep or goats at county or the spring majors needs to make their validation tag order.  Up to Aug 26th state validation tags will be $18, after that they are $30.  County tags are $3 and for animals who will only be competing at county.  Please email me your tag order and bring a check by the office by Aug 26th.

Also, if you have a livestock exhibitor who plans on showing at major shows this year who is going into the 3rd, 6th, or 9th grade they need to complete quality counts by going to the following website:  https://agrilife.org/qualitycounts/

If you have any questions please let me know.
