4-Hers Post Outstanding Year
According to Extension Agent Rebel Royall, this was an outstanding year for Glasscock County 4-H members at the major livestock shows. He says the youth brought approximately $60,000 back to the county through livestock projects in the spring of 2007. Some of the results follow.

Livestock Judging Contests: At the first livestock judging contest for 2007 held in conjunction with the San Angelo Livestock Show & Rodeo, the senior judging team placed 2nd overall. The junior judging teams placed 6th, 9th, and 10th. Junior teams participated in the Brady Heart of Texas contest. Three teams participated in the Snyder FFA Invitational Contest, placing two teams, 3rd and 4th overall.
Glasscock County was represented by eighteen 4-Hers at the Texas Tech Livestock judging meet on March 29. Senior Team members Cade Halfmann, Lane Halfmann, Cole Schwartz, and Levi Schaefer earned 1st place overall. Levi Schaefer was 1st high individual and received a $500 scholarship Cade Halfmann, as 5th high individual, received a $100 scholarship. Clarendon College hosted its Livestock Judging Contest March 31 and the senior team won 3rd place overall.
