State Qualifier from Regional Track Meet
Allison Jansa, who was one of six athletes representing Garden City at the regional track meet in Levelland, qualified for the state track meet after placing second in both the 1600 meters and 3200 meters. K’Lann Niehues took fifth overall in the high jump and Megan Niehues finished sixth overall in the 400 meters.
On the boy’s team, Chais Goodwin finished seventh in the triple jump, Cory Multer was ninth overall in the discus, and Jason Flores finished seventh in the 1600 meters. The top two in each event qualify for the state meet.

Wade Jansa received the Top Gun Award as the top eighth grader competing in all four events.

Taylor Niehues won the Top Gun Award for all four events with Colton Schwartz 3rd and Katie Gully 10th.

Regional Tennis Tournament Results
GCHS boys and girls doubles tennis teams each finished in fourth place at the regional tournament in Levelland recently. Alex Halfmann and Taylor Niehues reached the semi-final match before falling to the Sudan team. Jessica Hoch and Megan Niehues were defeated in the semi-finals by the team from Nazareth.
The boys’ team of Blake Chudej and Evan Jansa were ousted in the second round by Sudan. Also, Allison Jansa and Stacy Gully, the other girls’ team, went out in the second round.
